Built in 1910 as a cargo vessel, the Clair de Soleil was converted into a passenger ship around 2000. Since 2026, the ship has been owned by Marco Pouw and Astrid Schweers, who also own the Clair d’Etoile and Clair de Lune. During the winter of 2026/27, the ship will undergo an extensive renovation and refurbishment.

The Clair de Soleil sails under Dutch ownership and management and primarily operates on rivers in Germany, accommodating up to 28 guests.

Cabins

The Clair de Soleil features 14 guest cabins located on the lower deck. Each cabin measures approximately 113 sq. ft. (10.5 m²) and is equipped with two twin beds (35 x 79 in / 90 x 200 cm). All cabins feature a private bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink, as well as individually controlled air conditioning and heating, a ventilation system, a hair dryer, and a safety deposit box. Each cabin also includes a wardrobe and shelving for clothing storage, along with a window that can be opened for fresh air.

Ship

The upper deck features a comfortable lounge and dining area with a bar and a separate sitting area. Large panoramic windows provide beautiful views of the passing scenery. The lounge is equipped with air conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. At the front of the ship, guests can relax in the outdoor seating area and enjoy a drink while taking in the riverside landscapes.
